The process of creating in 2D, 3D, and VR is the same as any other creative process. The difference is in the result.

Our technologies allow us to use the creative process to create amazing designs and immersive experiences. Working closely with you, our team uses the following process to help you achieve your goals.

2D Design and Rendering

We partner with firms to produce drawings as if they came from their own office. When you work with SMD you can rest assured your design documents are being produced with the highest level of standards.

Production Pipeline

In order to work together in the most efficient manner a production pipeline must be formed. Below is a breakdown of how we work with you to deliver top notch 2D design deliverables.

We submit 2D, you redline.

After our kickoff meeting we are supplied with all relevant assets and information to get started on your project. This includes but is not limited to CAD standards, drawings, sketches, and any other requirements necessary to start production.

Drawings are submitted as they are completed or on a predetermined schedule.

After drawings are reviewed, revisions/redlines are sent back digitally if modifications are required.

Regular scheduled video chats/conferences help us to review design documents in tandem and strategize moving forward as milestones are completed.

3D Rendering and Animation

Your 3D modeling experts

First we collect the client’s drawings, floorplans, furniture requirements, and any other CAD information you may have. Then we ensure that we have all the details necessary to create a 3D architectural model. Once we have all the information necessary, we start modeling your design using the latest modeling software. After several client reviews, we then capture perspective renderings, create animations based on approved storyboards, or develop virtual walkthrough capabilities.

Models are submitted on a schedule as they progress or when they are completed.

After models are reviewed, revisions/redlines are sent back digitally if modifications are required.

Renderings and Animations

We work with you to create high end visuals including 3D perspective renderings and exciting animation walkthroughs. Our team helps you create a storyboard for animations and works directly with you to strategize perspectives that showcase your design to its full potential.
